Dilma Rousseff
In the time that Rousseff has been President, she has fought off corruption, enacted the Millenium Development Goals, given a voice for woman and seeks to join the U.N Security Council, with the U.S's supports. Brazil has been elected 10 times to the Security council. Brazil has helped in peacekeeping efforts in the Middle East, the former Belgian Congo, Cyprus, Mozambique, Angola and Haiti. They are one of the main contributors to the UN Budget. Franklin D. Roosevelt has lobbied for Brazil to be included into the council but have not made it because of the UK's and Soviet Union's refusal. Currently, the U.S has shown strong indication to support Brazil by not vetoing the vote.
